This brief for Living Cities members highlights the proceedings of the August 5-7 Urban Policy Advisory Group (UPAG) meeting held in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The goal of this brief is to provide a summary of key insights from the convening and to provide critical information about activities in the field that would be useful for member investment decisions.
UPAG is part of the Project on Municipal Innovation (PMI), a joint venture of Living Cities, the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and the Rockefeller Foundation. UPAG offers a unique forum for candid dialogues meant to jumpstart policy reform at the local level and to arm senior municipal government advisors with innovative ideas and a support network for advancing those ideas locally. The group holds biannual in-person meetings at Harvard, quarterly webinars, and meetings of cohort groups focused on areas such as transit-oriented development and economic growth.
