This report covers the Blended Catalyst Fund activities for the period from first closing on December 15, 2015 through June 30, 2016.

On December 15, 2016, Living Cities closed the newly created Blended Catalyst Fund with $28.9 million in commitments ($15.0 million seniors, $9.4 million juniors, and $4.5 million grants). On July 22, 2016 we closed an additional $2.0 million in the junior tranche with the John D. And Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, making the Blended Catalyst Fund a $30.9 million fund.

Key developments of fiscal year 2016, from December 2015 through June 2016, include:

  • New Investments: Living Cities closed three investments – a $500 thousand loan to Denver PFS LLC, a $2.0 million investment in Impact Ventures III and a $500 thousand investment in the Urban Innovation Fund.
