This case study of The Itasca Project is part of a body of research that explores what makes a cross-sector partnerships successful.
Many institutions and individuals have expressed their belief in the power of cross-sector partnerships by funding and participating in them. As a result, these partnerships have multiplied in recent years. However, the collective understanding of what makes a cross-sector partnership successful is limited.
The Case Study takes a close look at The Itasca Project, an employer-led alliance drawn together by an interest in new and better ways to address regional issues that impact economic competitiveness and quality of life in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota region. It is designed to be a companion to What Barriers? Insights from Solving Problems through Cross-Sector Partnerships with the goal of making the concepts explored in that paper concrete.
