Tim Ferguson

Tim is the Founder and Chairman of Next Street. Next Street is a certified B Corporation with offices in Boston, New York City, and Chicago. The firm provides advice and capital solutions to revitalize communities, grow businesses, create jobs, and deliver financial and social returns to their partners. Next Street works with organizations that are innovative, forward-thinking, and growth-oriented – including small businesses and nonprofits, as well as investors, anchor institutions, and government and economic development entities. Tim is particularly interested in the emerging field of impact investment which has the potential to transform the neighborhoods that Next Street works in.

Prior to founding Next Street in 2005 Tim was at several large financial services enterprises in a career spanning over 25 years. Tim’s career included being Head of Investments for Putnam Investments, the CEO of HSBC Asset Management and the CEO of County NatWest Securities. His professional experience ranges from investment banking to investment management with a focus on managing and growing such businesses. Tim is Chair of the Boston Children’s Chorus and a Director of the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City. Tim has a BA in Politics, Economics and Law from the University of Buckingham in the UK.
