Matt Baer formerly led and supported major initiatives in Living Cities’ Public Sector Innovation portfolio, focused on helping local governments transform the way they operate and collaborate in order to improve the lives of low-income residents.

Matt Baer has spent over a decade advising leaders in government on strategy development and operational improvement. As part of Deloitte Consulting’s public sector strategy practice, Matt led and supported projects focused on shared services design and implementation, business process improvement, communication and change management, operating model design and systems implementation. His clients included state departments of labor, agriculture, education, environmental conservation and information technology, along with major public and private universities. Earlier in his career, Matt served as a legislative and budget analyst with the New York City Office of Management and Budget, and the Ways and Means Committee of the New York State Assembly in Albany.

Matt attended New York City public schools and received his undergraduate degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
