Barbara Picower is the President and Chair of the Board of Directors of The JPB Foundation, a charitable institution founded in 2011 from the proceeds of the estate of her late husband, Jeffry M. Picower.

Barbara Picower is the President and Chair of the Board of Directors of The JPB Foundation, a charitable institution founded in 2011 from the proceeds of the estate of her late husband, Jeffry M. Picower. The JPB Foundation builds upon the success of the previous Picower Foundation, and aims to enhance the quality of life in the United States through transformational initiatives that promote the health and resiliency of communities. In addition to her role as President, Ms. Picower manages a grantmaking portfolio specifically focusing on reproductive rights, health issues and medical research. Ms. Picower earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Hofstra University and holds a Master of Arts Degree in History and Secondary Education and a Master of Science Degree in Nutrition both from New York University. Ms. Picower is currently a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors at the Harvard School of Public Health. In 2014, Ms. Picower also became a member of the Board of Directors for Living Cities.
