Tomorrow, the Ford Foundation (a Living Cities member institution) and TED Cities have partnered to present TEDCity 2.0–a full day event in New York that will convene an impressive list of urban innovators as they discuss the intersection of social justice and city life. They will be joined by TEDx communities across the globe that will host over 100 city-themed local TEDCity 2.0 events featuring the local leaders and innovators of their cities. The New York event will bring together TED and Ford networks with other leading thinkers such as Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Emily May of Hollaback!, Code for America’s Catherine Bracy, US Secretary of HUD Shaun Donovan, photographer Iwan Baan, and aural artist and Stereopublic founder Jason Sweeney.
TED will livestream the event on the web, and you can join the twitter conversation at #TEDCity2. Join the excitement! And, to get an introduction to how Ford is thinking about the concept of the “just city”, check out this video. We’ll see you online!
