Scaling Cradle to Career

Living Cities is excited to announce SUNY’s launch of the New York Cradle to Career Strategic Alliance. The Alliance will help cradle-to-career partnerships across the state develop their capacity to collaboratively impact students’ access to opportunity.

As a result of our work with the Strive Network, we strongly believe in the potential to mend the education pipeline for all children by partnering with cross-sector stakeholders. Strive pioneered this approach in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky with a vision of supporting the success of every child in the region from cradle to career. By setting this audacious goal, they were able to engage education, non-profit, philanthropic, business, civic and community leaders in a meaningful partnership.

After working similarly in five additional sites, Strive developed a four-pillar framework for building a civic infrastructure of cross-sector leaders to accomplish this work. We’re excited about the potential impact of taking this framework to scale across New York state through the Cradle to Career Strategic Alliance.
