Board of Directors

Mr. Nelson was appointed president of the Annie E. Casey Foundation in 1990. He served previously as deputy director of the Center for the Study of Social Policy and as assistant secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services. Among his leadership positions, Mr. Nelson is vice chair of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation Center and a trustee of the Baltimore Community Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MA in history from the University of Wyoming.
