Group Executive, Community Development Banking, JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Martin S. Cox is a Group Executive of JPMorgan Chase and is the Head of Community Development Banking (CDB). Mr. Cox is responsible for JPMorgan Chase’s community development lending and investing businesses, which originate over $1 billion annually in new commitments for affordable housing construction, intermediaries lending, and other lending activities focused on strengthening low-and moderate-income communities.
Mr. Cox joined Texas Commerce Bank (a predecessor bank of JPMorgan Chase) in 1980, and spent most of his career in Large Corporate and Middle Market banking. As part of the merger of JPMorgan Chase and Bank One in 2004, Martin was named Group Executive of Chase Equipment Leasing, a national operation with $5.5 billion in assets, and in 2008 was asked to lead Chase’s Community Development Banking business.
Mr. Cox serves on the Board of Living Cities, the Board of Directors for the SMU Tate Lecture Series, and the Finance Committee of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Mr. Cox has a B.S. degree in anthropology/economics and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Martin’s wife, Laurie, is a professional artist. They have two daughters, Avery, who is 23 and Helen, who is 20.
